Carla Methon has tread on a lot of toes, men's and women's alike. But no one could be more dissatisfied with Carla than the lady herself. With a compunction to throw herself at every man within a three mile radius and a serious case of foot in mouth disease, Carla knows she is in desperate need of being taken in hand before she does any more damage to her reputation.

Kieran O'Brien needs to escape a broken relationship and he invites himself to spend a summer with his brother in Corbin's Bend. But Kieran is a totally unsuspecting vanilla with no idea of the ethos of the community he is about to enter.

The pair strike up an unlikely friendship of vanilla and spice, with one stipulation - it is only a summer fling. By the time Kieran boards his flight to return to Ireland he wishes his summer could last forever. Can he find the courage, not only to admit the extent of his feelings, but to take on the role Carla so desperately needs him to be?

About Corbin's Bend:

Welcome to Corbin's Bend, the first equity-cooperative housing development just for spankofiles. Thirty thousand acres in the mountains above Denver sits your dream come true. With 1000 home sites, several restaurants, a club house, theater, pool, and many other amenities, you will find yourself at home.

Corbin's Bend is the setting for a group of spanking romance novellas set in, where else? Corbin's Bend, Colorado. A fictitious housing cooperative, Corbin's Bend is unique in that everyone living there is into spanking, whether that be erotically or through domestic discipline. Just imagine, a place where nobody has to hide their particular spanking lifestyle.

While reading any series in order is nice, Corbin's Bend books can be read as stand-alones as well.

Chapter One

“Oh bollocks,” Jim exclaimed as he read the screen in front of him.

“What’s up?” Ange asked. Jim rarely swore anymore and never in front of the children, so she knew it had to be something pretty bad. He had scrunched his eyes in that deeply contemplative way he had, revealing a deep ridge, evidence of his age and life experience. His once black hair was getting more and more peppered with grey, although the spring sunshine had his skin glowing with healthfulness.

“Kieran’s just split up with Maura. He’s due some leave and he wants to come here.”

“Sure that’s hardly the end of the world, is it?”

“For three bloody months! I don’t know how Brent would take to that. It’s a long time and it would be hard to hide what Corbin’s Bend is.”

Ange understood his anxiety. Although Kieran wasn’t the worst of them, neither Jim’s nor Ange’s family were too impressed when their spanking kink had come to light, very publicly. And if they couldn’t handle the kink, then full domestic discipline would definitely not go down well. There wasn’t a hope in hell of Kieran understanding it, or the community they lived in.

“You’ll have to put him off, simple as that. Tell him it’s a closed community and we are only allowed visitors for a week or so. Anyway, it’s not really lying; we aren’t supposed to have long term visitors without the board’s approval,” Ange said.

“Yeah! You’re right, that’s what I’ll do. I doubt Brent would like it. Perfect. Thanks, love.” Ange listened to the rapid click, click, click of the tablet’s keyboard. She was amazed at how computer literate Jim had become since working with Hank Methon. In Ireland, everything was thrown in a shoebox and handed to the accountant. He always said that stuff was beyond him, and yet off the top of his head he could tell you the profit on any job, the cost of any material and what he had in his bank account to the penny, with nothing more than pen and paper and a good memory. He was just too run ragged to set it down formally in a spreadsheet or to get to grips with changing technology.

“Feck it!” Jim exclaimed loudly a few minutes later. Ange looked over. His face was red with anger.

“Bugger had only gone and booked his ticket earlier, it wasn’t a bloody request; he was merely informing us he’s coming.”

“Nice of him to let us know in advance of landing here! So when is he arriving?” Ange asked.

“Next week. Bang goes my study for three months. Brent did say I could have an office, but I always preferred doing the paper work from here. I like having my coffee breaks with you.”

The loss of the office was the least of Ange’s worries. She was concerned about the interference in their private life. She and Jim were closer than ever before, and their sex life was amazing. She wasn’t happy at the idea of another adult staying with them. It would mean they would have to keep the noise down. And the domestic discipline she had fought so hard to avoid was almost like a drug to her, a sedative when she was stressed, a pick me up when she was down. She didn’t want that curtailed. Not to mention another person to feed, clean up after and have under her feet.

“I don’t want him to know what this place is, Jim. Please don’t tell him. He won’t understand.”

“It’ll be hard to hide it, love. Anyway, I thought we left the shame behind in Ireland.”

“Yeah well, it seems Ireland just followed us here. Please. For me?”

At nine pm the flight touched down in Denver International Airport. Kieran cleared customs and immigration much more speedily than he had anticipated. Too quickly in fact; the several beers he had consumed on the flight were still fresh in his system. He needed coffee. Kieran was hoping his niece and nephew were not waiting in arrivals, or Ange would be gunning for him. Kieran had liked Ange a lot when she and Jim started dating, and after they were married and Ava was born. But after little Jack was born, she seemed to change. She lost her sense of humor and got as uptight as bejaysus. She wouldn’t appreciate his landing half cut. But he had needed those few drinks. It had been a tough few weeks. It was bad enough that Maura ditched him, but to hear she was getting married in a couple of months had gutted him. They had been living together for a year. Kieran had been on about getting married for longer than that, but Maura had always insisted she was not the marrying kind, and he had accepted it. Kieran had figured that in time they would have had children and then she would either change her mind about marriage, or at least agree to a civil partnership to give the children a sense of security. To hear she was half way down the aisle already was just devastating. When Kieran boarded that plane, he made a resolution to leave it all behind him. Not normally much of a drinker, he toasted his freedom with far too many beers.

A wave of relief washed over Kieran when he saw Jim standing behind the barriers alone. Kieran was struck by how amazingly fit and trim his brother looked. He had become positively porky before they left Ireland, and no wonder; Ange was an incredible cook. The thought of being fed by her for the next three months was making his mouth water in anticipation. Looking at Jim made him wonder if she had given up on the cooking elaborate dishes for the family, now that she was running a bakery business.

“Is the missus not feeding you right, now that she’s back working?” he asked once Jim released him from the bear hug.

“Don’t you dare say that to Ange, or she’ll serve you your goolies for breakfast in the morning,” Jim replied with a laugh. “It’s living here. The facilities are great and there’s no going to the pub every weekend. You smell like you could do with a dry out too!”

“Christ, I didn’t expect you to have a pop at me. Ange maybe. I haven’t turned into a lush. It’s a once off, I swear. But I could seriously use a coffee before we go any further. How long is the drive?”

“Over an hour. We’ll get coffee to go.”

“I suppose you heard Maura’s getting married,” Kieran said as they started out on the journey.

“Fuck, no! I’m sorry, man.”

“Ach, I suppose it’s better off happening now than when we had kids. At least that’s what I try to tell myself. She’d have left me sooner or later. You’re lucky you found Ange. She’s so dependable.”

“We’ve had our share of ups and downs, every couple does. But yeah, she’s pretty great. And coming here was a brilliant decision. We’ve become a team.”

“Oh my God, that sounds so American. We’ll have to get you back home to sort you out.”

“Scoff away, but you’ll see. Things are different here. Once Corbin’s Bend gets under your skin, you won’t want to leave. And no, before you ask! You can’t extend your stay. Three months is definitely your limit. I had to do all sorts of begging and pleading to get permission for you to stay this long.”

“Why, what’s the big deal with visitors?”

“It’s a housing co-operative, none of us own our houses, but we own shares in the co-op. New residents go through a screening process. And a three month stay is a long time. The board may well want to meet with you, I don’t know yet.”

“What sort of screening? Like work ethic, clean living and that kind of thing?”

“Um, yeahsomething like that,” Jim replied. Kieran got the feeling that Jim was holding back, something he wasn’t saying, and his curiosity was piqued. But he knew Jim of old, nothing would convince him to spit it out if he didn’t want to, so Kieran let it pass.

“That’s a great idea, we should have those co-ops in Ireland. Hey, maybe I can look into it when I get back. Could be a business proposition.”

“You’d have to get the right legislation first. And as far as I can see, they’re not profitable. But Brent, the man who started the whole thing, he had a vision and he doesn’t seem to mind helping to fund his dreams.”

“Nice,” Kieran said as they pulled into the community.

“Wait ‘til you see it in daylight. It’s beautiful, especially with the mountains as a backdrop. This is our street now. That house is Brandon Delt’s, he’s a great mate. You’ll like him.”

Kieran couldn’t help but envy the enthusiasm in Jim’s voice as he spoke of his new community and life. He was a different man to the spent force that had almost been hounded out of Ireland almost three years earlier. Kieran, while saddened by the contrast with his own circumstances, could only be thrilled for him. He’d had a rough few years. He wondered if Ange was as happy or if she was here because of Jim. They entered through the front door and headed straight through the hall to the living room where his sister-in-law was waiting their arrival.

“Kieran, great to see you. How was your flight?” He had to stoop pretty low to accept the kiss the diminutive Ange was offering. She was radiating health. Positively glowing. His guess was she was just as happy as her husband.

“Good to see you too, Ange. You look mighty. Thanks for having me.”

“It’s not like you gave us a lot of choice,” Ange retorted, punching him playfully. “You get more like Jim every year, you’d want to be careful I don’t mix you up and snuggle into the wrong brother.”

“I wouldn’t mind,” Kieran said.

“Well I certainly would, hands off this is mine, all mine,” Jim cut in, grabbing a fistful of his wife’s shapely bottom as she giggled and playfully slapped his hands away.

Yes, things had certainly improved between them, Kieran surmised. He hadn’t seen them so at ease together in years. He suddenly felt better about Maura’s departure. He’d never had that easiness with her. Maybe she hadn’t been the one for him.

The heat and the bright sunshine were the first things that struck Kieran when he woke up in Jim’s study, the room that was to be his bedroom for the coming months. Kieran felt kind of guilty about that he hadn’t considered the inconvenience he might have been putting Jim and Ange to when he booked his flight all he had been concerned about was getting away. Their house in Ireland, while a similar size, had been much more compartmented. More rooms of a smaller size. The open plan on the ground floor was wonderful, opening the whole area to suit family needs. But throw a third party into the mix and Kieran could see it was tricky. He would either have to stick to his bedroom, or get under their feet.

The aroma of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup soon made lying in impossible. The scents ascended the stairs, with one purpose in mind to tempt him from his bed! He checked his watch. At first he was embarrassed at the lateness of the hour, then he remembered he hadn’t yet switched to Colorado time. A bit of speedy mental arithmetic convinced him it was only seven a.m. What in the hell was wrong with these people? Sure it was almost the middle of the night! He raced through his shower, washing away the after effects of his in flight indulgences. There was nothing like a good feed to get you right after a night’s drinking.

When he went into the kitchen, Ange had already gone to work. Jim had apparently whipped up the pancakes himself. Even that was astounding to Kieran. For years, Kieran had watched Ange keep the home fires burning. Even when other things were bad. There were times he had wanted to whap his brother for being so bloody obtuse. He should have seen she was cracking under the strain, but he kept working ridiculously long hours and burying his head in the sand. After little Jack was born, Kieran could see Ange was losing it, and tried to point it out to Jim in as nice a way he could, but Jim kept saying everything was grand. Grand my arse, he thought. How could all that crap in the newspapers be grand? She must have died a new death with each headline. Still, Jim was master of his own castle. It was his business how he ran his life.

“Nice grub. Very American,” Kieran commented as he surveyed the plates on the table.

“Kids like it,” Jim explained. “Didn’t expect to see you for another few hours.”

“Damn, I thought I was missing Ange’s cooking. If I’d known it was only yours, I would have stayed in bed,” he said helping himself to a heaped plate of pancakes, bacon and smothering it in syrup.

“Cheeky bugger! Eat it and be thankful. Now, no offense to the company, but I have to drop the kids off and get to work. Here’s a key. I’ll pop in on you in a few hours. I’ve taken the next few days off, but I thought you would sleep late with the jet-lag, so I figured today should be a work day. Seems like I was wrong. Sorry.”

“That’s grand. Sure I need a bit of time to sleep off this head. I’ll look around later,” Kieran replied through a mouthful of pancake. “These are good, the missus must have taught you a thing or two since you got here.”

“Keep that chat up and I’ll forbid Ange to feed you for the full three months! Oh, I nearly forgot, a neighbor has a key, and she often pops in and out looking for paperwork and stuff. Long, lanky lass by the name of Carla. Don’t piss her off, her father is my business partner. And watch out for her, she eats men for breakfast. She’s a great girl, apart from that.” With that, he exited leaving Kieran no chance to ask any questions.

Tara Finnegan's first Corbin's Bend Exile to Unity is one of my favourites of the series so far. It's an excellent read albeit one that had me sobbing in the bath. But you know, in a good way. It was cathartic. His Forever Summer introduces us to Jim-from-the-first-book's brother Kieran O'Brien who has invited himself to stay with his brother's family for a few months, blissfully unaware of the spankiness of the Colorado community. He meets Carla who has appeared in numerous previous books, less a femme fatale and more a femme kind-of-really-annoying. It's nice to see things from her perspective for a change. By embarking on a relationship with Carla without knowing the full facts about Corbin's Bend unique spanking-based policies, Kieren is following in a fine and noble tradition. He's not the first passing visitor to discover a passion for spanking after hanging out in Corbin's Bend for a week. I like it. It supports my theory that everyone has an inner spanko just waiting to be released. Kieren, is however the first guy who has been in that position and he is also the first would-be Head of Household. Cadence and Abby and Dina were introduced to the lifestyle as prospective spankees rather than spankers which has got to be a damn sight easier when you're not the one giving the orders. Luckily, with a bit of brotherly advice from Jim, Kieren more than rises to the occasion when we persuades Carla to allow him to handle her punishment rather than a professional disciplinarian. The romance is nicely handled. This was an excellent story with brilliantly developed characters who have to work hard to make their happiness happen. I highly recommend that you read it.

Kiernan comes for a visit without a whole lot of permission and no clue what goes on in Corbin's Bend. Carla wants to do better. They quickly become friends and she starts to help him understand what Corbin's Bend is all about. It was fun to see Keirnan move from not interested to embracing the life. A lot of fun.

This is the story of how Kiernan and Carla meet, become friends, fall in love and figure out how to be in a DD relationship. It was a fun ride filled with humor, confusion, commitment, sex and love. The strand that flowed throughout the entire story was the growth of Kiernan. He had no idea what he was getting into, but he discovered his dominant side, learned to discipline someone he cared for, got an intimate look into his brother’s marriage and committed himself all without falling apart. This is a delightful romp and a credit to this series.

I absolutely loved this book. It takes great skill as a writer to make everyone love the most unliked person in a series, but Tara Finnegan has done it! I was so excited when I heard that Carla was going to be receiving her HEA. But nothing prepared me for how much I was going to enjoy this book. There were parts that were so funny, I laughed out loud. But more than that there were serious, heart wrenching, and just plain touching parts of this book. I cried at more than one spot and when Kiernan and Carla had their HEA, I just sighed. It was a beautiful love story and so real. It is the skill that Tara Finnegan shares in every book, realism. The sex scenes in this book were so flipping HOT. And this book has elements that I think every woman can relate to--if not more than one aspect. I loved the Irish culture and vernacular that was in the book. Hats off to Tara for an absolutely spectacular book that had some of the hottest sex scenes I've read in a while.

I have read many of the CB books and loved them, love the idea and each of the characters I get to know. That said, this is probably my favorite out of the bunch Season 1 and 2. It took guts to take on the story of Carla, the woman everybody loves to hate at Corbin's Bend - and deservedly so. I didn't like her even a little bit before this book but by the end, I was crying with her and, finally, so happy for her with her HEA. I could easily relate to Carla, feel her insecurities, know her not very nice side and understand wholly feeling the outsider, the one who isn't quite welcome. I have a completely clear picture of Keiren, this big Irish guy who has no idea what he's walking into when he gets to CB and how he reacts when he sees it in action for the first time. He comes to care enough for Carla to take on her discipline rather than allowing her to go to a stranger for some corporal punishment. I think that was the turning point in their relationship, that first punishment. I felt completely embarrassed right along with her when she stood in the corner that first time, was mortified when Kieren had her bend over the bed, bare bottomed, all of her exposed, but when he began to punish her, it just felt right. Talk about two people meant to be together. Kieren was Alpha through and through and Carla the imperfect heroine. I loved them both and felt all the emotions Carla felt right along with her and wanted to shake Kieren at one point, but he got it together in the end. The punishments in this book are some of the best I've read - at least they're exactly what work for me and the sex was hot and I'm so glad Carla got to be heard and that she met this wonderful man who saw through the crap to what was inside.

I could not turn the pages fast enough with this book. I loved every second of this spanking romance. The characters were thoroughly entertaining. Kieran was a smoking hot vanilla turned a delicious chocolate. I loved being taken into Carla's head and seeing her sensitive side. This was a compelling story that had it all. Hot spankings, spicy sex, tender romance, laughs, and beautiful resolution. Tara Finnegan has earned herself a spot on my favorite authors list!

In this book we get the pleasure of going back to Corbin’s Bend. Carla, a single woman, has earned the rather dubious reputation as a man-eater, her jealousy of other women’s happiness, causing her to act out in very inappropriate manners. Swearing off men, she is able to just become friends with Kieran, Jim’s brother who comes to visit for the summer. Kieran is just as pleased to be Carla’s friend as he is recuperating from a relationship break-up. The secret of Corbin’s Bend is revealed within a few weeks and Kieran is bowled over. When Carla informs him that she has made an appointment to see a professional disciplinarian in Denver, he struggles to accept and understand her needs. I won’t spoil the story but do want to say that this is yet another great offering in this series. I recommend to anyone who enjoys D/D, HOH, a bit of D/s and mostly, the love and trust these couples enjoy. Very well done.

Kieren has experienced a bad breakup in Ireland and invites himself to stay the summer with his brother Jim and Ange in Corbin Bend. He is unaware of the lifestyle of the Corbin community. He develops a friendship with Carla a known trouble maker in need of her own disciplinarian. When Kieren walks in on Ange being discipline it’s Carla who explains the dynamic of the community and soon Kieren finds himself taking on this role in Carla’s life. However, he is only in town for the Summer. This is another page turner. Keep them coming!

The O'Brien's from Tara Finnegan's book Exile To Unity are back. Jim receives an em from his brother Kieran letting them know that he is coming to Corbin's Bend for a 3 month breather after breaking up with his fiancée. The next door neighbor just happens to be Carla. You remember Carla don't ya - the pain in the butt(no pun intended) young woman who pounces on every new male who comes into town. Kieran is unaware of the type of community Corbin's Bend is and comes home and sees Jim spanking Ange and then proceeds to sock Jim a right good one. He goes and spend the night at Carla's and she explains the dynamics of the community to him and slowly they begin a relationship that will end when Kieran goes home to Ireland. In my humble opinion, Tara Finnegan has produced another winner for this series. Everything about this book was wonderful. The characters, dialog, excellent spankings, smokin' hot sex and the continuation of the story was seamless. This is definitely another winner for all the authors who have written for this series and I can not wait for the next book.

The characters, dialog, excellent spankings, smokin' hot sex and the continuation of the story was seamless. This is definitely another winner for all the authors who have written for this series and I can not wait for the next book.

Ahh, the second season of Corben’s Bend continues.  In this story we are reacquainted with Ange and her husband Jim.  Jim’s brother, Kiera has invited himself to visit for 3 months.  Kieran knows nothing about the community they live in and does not know that his brother and sister-in-law practice domestic discipline.  Kieran meets Carla, the man-hungry girl from previous stories.  But, we learn that there is more to Carla than meets the eye.  We find out about her past marriage and how that has affected her. But, first we need to discuss Kieran.  Kieran is shocked, and aroused by D/d.  It takes Carla making an appointment with a professional disciplinarian for him to come to the dark side. Lol  He decides that he wants to be the one to punish Carla as he cares for her.  After a 40 minute discussion with Jim, he comes back to Carla ready to deal with her punishment.  And deal with it he does!  This is a great book about how two people with different ideas of how a relationship should work fall in love.  They both make compromise and learn how to be with one another.  I highly recommend this book.  I give this 5 stars!

Tara Finnegan has a style all her own. This is a whale of a book in my opinion. Imagine being part of a community where spanking wives and girlfriends is common place and the norm and you have no one to spank you. That is Carla's dilemma. as you will see as you read she is in definite need of some old fashion spanking and atonement. While a professional disciplinarian is scheduled Carla takes a big chance and let's an alpha male give her that same spanking and boy does he deliver. As my husband commented when he read "His Forever Summer" this young lady's pretty outer package does not match her ugly inside reality. The title of the book and the genius of its naming will become apparent as the relationship develops through spankings, paddling and a twist of anal punishments which escalate due to Carla's mouth deeds and backsliding. My husband and I give this book five stars, it will not disappoint. You will want to race out and explore more Corbin Bend books after you read tis one. we have our eye on one already!

Carla Methon had a bad reputation in Corbin's Bend for causing trouble and with so many different people and households. She had stir up so much trouble that she even began to feel like an outcast. Kieran O’Brien is the brother to Jim O'Brien, he has had a bad break up in Ireland and decides to come visit Jim and Ange in Corbin's Bend. Not knowing that Corbin's Bend is a spanking community and he is totally vanilla, he is in for a surprise! Carla and Kieran meet and hit it off. This story covers the vanilla laid back Kieran who is only there for three months and the spanko Carla as they become friends and more. Can Kieran change his ways and give Carla what she craves? But what happens at the end of three months? Each of these Corbin's Bend stories will read as a standalone BUT, they are too good to just read one. I love how we get to see people from the other Corbin's Bend books from season one and even new ones from season two.

Kieren ‘asks’ (or more accurately invites himself) to stay for 3 months with his brother Jim and his wife Ange (who we met in an earlier book). This story was different from the others so far, as it’s Kieren who has no idea about Corbin’s Bend. Given all the trouble Jim & Ange had back in Ireland, Ange doesn’t wasn’t Kieren to know about their lifestyle, so they attempt to hide it. Kieren soon meets Carla, who has desperately been throwing herself at the men in the community in several of the previous books, including his own brother Jim. Carla knows she couldn’t be with a partner who was vanilla and so she lets herself relax and be herself with Kieren, through this she soon finds a great friendship. Of course it’s not too long before Kieren walks in one day and discovers his brother spanking Ange. With no idea about domestic discipline he quickly jumps in to protect Ange! Convinced that Ange is in an abusive relationship he goes to visit Carla while he tries to decide what he should do next. It’s there that Carla explains about Corbin’s Bend. As Carla explains why people want this lifestyle and that it’s a consensual decision, she also begins to talk about herself. When Kieren finds out what Carla needs, he begins to question what he thought was black & white and finds himself making a decision about what he would do to help and protect Carla. The Corbin Bend books have all been great but I have to say that I think this is the best book of the series so far! I received this as an ARC for an honest review.
