This was my first Corbin’s Bend book and what a joy! At first, Sebastian seemed weak for a hero but soon into the story his character grows into a promising alpha male who likes to spank his naughty wife.

I love the relationship of Sebastian and Nancy and how they decided to promote her career as a doctor and he gave up his job as a teacher to be a stay-at-home dad for their daughter Chloe. Unfortunately Nancy’s job has drawbacks with the long and late hours. Finding a job at a place called Corbin’s Bend seems to be the perfect answer, great pay and location. What happens when Nancy makes all the decisions and leaves Sebastian in the dark? Better yet, he has no idea of the lifestyle in Corbin’s Bend until he is there. Can he become the HoH and start practicing a domestic discipline lifestyle? Be careful what you wish for, because it may just come true, but maybe it is just what this couple and their marriage need. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning. Being manipulative can produce unexpected results. This is another wonderful and enlightening addition to the Corbin’s Bend Series.

This is a great story but I do admit a few frustrations when Nancy’s deceptions seem way to the extreme. In the end I really enjoyed the story and wanted to stand up and cheer when Sebastian finally took over the role of HOH. This is a read and I am very glad that I read it despite my initial concerns. Deceptive Practices indeed…read the book but don’t follow Nancy’s example!

I loved this book with the deception and lies that Nancy goes through to move her family to Corbin’s Bend while keeping her husband Sebastian oblivious to the type of community Corbin’s bend is. I did wonder how this would be possible given the interviews that the board goes through, but with a bit of luck and a lot of lying, this story has a very believe explanation. Nancy hasn’t managed to convince Sebastian about Spanking as part of a DD relationship, but she is convinced that moving will change his mind once they’re there, but leading up to the move she can’t find a way to tell him what she’s done. The relationship between Sebastian and Nancy was really well written and believable, you felt the struggle Nancy had with what she’d done and Sebastian’s shock over what she did and how he dealt with it. Definitely recommend this book. I received this as an ARC for an honest review.

I can't get over how much I love all of these Corbin's Bend books! Each one is different, and yet I love that I always get to see and hear about old "Friends" from other books. This one really caught my attention from the beginning...the fact that Nancy got them into the development by lying! Not a good idea in Corbin's Bend!! I loved this whole story and would strongly recommend it to anyone, not to mention any/all other books in this series!

I'm not sure how you would persuade your nearest and dearest to move to a community such as Corbin's Bend without telling them what the place is all about but this story gave an interesting description odf a couple learning to live a DD lifestyle.

Nancy knows what she wants and it seems needs but she goes about in all the wrong ways. It could have ended so badly but Sebastien gets on board and she finds out what is really important.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. *** I really enjoyed this book. Along the same vein as last season’s Psychology of Submission by Livia Grant, Deceptive Practices looks at a domestic discipline (DD) relationship in which the taken in hand (TiH) is a well-educated medical professional – someone I can relate to career-wise. Unlike Traci, Nancy has no practical experience with DD, having only researched the subject online, yet believes it to be exactly what she needs from her husband. While she was able to convince her husband to spank her erotically, her efforts to convince him that a DD relationship was what she needed from him have failed completely. Because of this, her decision to apply for a radiologist position at the new Corbin’s Bend Medical Center without telling Sebastian was kind of understandable. It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision, coupled with low expectations of actually getting the job because it was just too good to be true. Besides, if she didn’t tell him, it wasn’t real. With that kind of set-up, Deceptive Practices promised loads of entertainment for me as the reader and even more spankings for Nancy as the TiH once her deception was uncovered because there was no way she could move her non-spanko husband to a spanking community without incident. *** It’s clear from the opening that while Nancy loves her job, some days it takes a serious toll on her emotionally. As she works primarily evening and night shifts, she doesn’t get to spend as much time with her husband as she would like and even less with their daughter. When you add in her desire for a DD relationship, it’s understandable why the idea of moving to Corbin’s Bend was so attractive. Once we learn that Sebastian defers to Nancy on all decisions that affect her career, it wasn’t really surprising that she pursued the employment opportunity without consulting her husband. While she told Sebastian about the job, the small-town community, the schools, and the housing co-op, she failed to mention a teensy, tiny detail … that Corbin’s Bend is a spanking community. Now anyone who has ever read any romance knows there is no way that will play out in her favor. But Nancy compounded the situation by not telling Sebastian about Corbin’s Bend during their three-day cross-country drive. Nor did she tell him once they arrived. Nope, Sebastian found out from Brent and Jonathan. Not surprisingly, Sebastian was not a happy husband once he learned about his wife’s lies – nor was Brent a happy Housing Board President. But what made that whole scene so entertaining, was that once Sebastian dealt with his anger and embarrassment, he started asking questions about a DD relationship because he acknowledged that if Nancy was willing to go to such lengths to make DD a part of their life, then she must really need it. That he found himself itching to dole out a bit of punishment for her lies and deception was merely icing on the cake. Oh yes, she definitely earned that spanking. And I had to confess that I found myself chuckling at her surprise at how much worse a punishment spanking was versus the erotic spankings she had received. *** As both Nancy and Sebastian were new to DD, there were plenty of growing pains to be experienced. We not only got to see Nancy flourish in the DD relationship as well as at work, but we also got to see Sebastian grow into his position as Head of Household (HoH). And Marks finally provided me the context within which to understand the concept of and purpose behind Maintenance Spanking. I’ve never really understood it before and what the point of it was, but as it was presented in Sebastian and Nancy’s relationship I finally got it. I also enjoyed that we got to see Traci and Sean as they served as Nancy and Sebastian’s mentors and again found myself chuckling when Nancy learned just how much the HoHs shared with one another. I loved the ending and how despite getting her family there under false pretenses, Nancy’s decision to uproot them all to Corbin’s Bend ended up being the best thing for all of them – both professionally and as a family. Deceptive Practices was another enjoyable addition to the Corbin’s Bend franchise and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

This story was about Nancy, who is a doctor, and her husband Sebastian, a former teacher who has been a stay at home dad with they're 5 year old daughter. Nancy wants to move to the Corbins Bend community, and tricks her husband into moving there. Sebastian learned more about the lifestyle Nancy wanted, and when she changes her mind he insists that they stay and stick it out. The move turns out to be the best thing for their family.

I have to admit that I've never read a Corbin's Bend novel I haven't enjoyed and this book just reinforced this. I loved the spin that it was the Dominant husband who was resistant to the Domestic Discipline lifestyle. Great read.

Can you enjoy this book if this is your first trip to Corbin's Bend? Oh yes! I was tempted to make my first journey by the story line. I wondered how the characters would handle the jump to DD? How would they handle the reverse sex roles with respect to careers? I was pleased to see the honesty included by this author. The characters continued to keep their innate personalities as well as the important aspects of their marriage, such as their desire to talk as a couple about big decisions. Good job, good storytelling, great story.

Can you enjoy this book if you haven't followed the series? Yes! I admit that this is my first introduction into Corbin's Bend community. This book in no way relied on knowing other characters or past events introduced in other books. I was tempted to read this book because I wanted to know how the characters handled the hurdle of jumping into the DD relationship. I thought it was shared with honesty as the two characters continued to maintain their personal identity and the importance of discussion in their marriage. Sebastian didn't take over everything. That honesty was appreciated by this reader. Great story.

I so enjoyed this book! It's a wonderful addition to the series and brings us two new characters to town. I had to laugh when poor Nancy started to weave her stories and excuses to get her husband onboard with a move and their acceptance into Corbin's Bend. Her motivation had good intentions but it was just a matter of time until Sebastian found out. He does and she has to pay the piper but then things in their marriage take a turn for the better. A great read!

Many couples have come to Corbin’s Bend, but Nancy gets her family there by applying for a job at the new hospital and for a new home without letting her husband, Sebastian, know anything about it. She wants a DD marriage and Sebastian is not on board with that. Sebastian has put everything into supporting Nancy in her medical career, even becoming a stay at home dad. When he is met by members of the Corbin Bend board, all things become clear and, much to his surprise, Sebastian is in agreement. He is to become HOH and Nancy learns first hand how to pay for her transgressions. This is a warmhearted story about how a family comes closer together by working through a DD marriage. Again, other members of the Corbin Bend community are an intricate and interesting part of the story.

A very well written book with engaging and memorable characters. Nancy longs to have her husband Sebastian take her in hand and spank her when she needs it. She arranges to have them move to Corbin Bend and it s there that Sebastian embraces his duty as HOH and gives Nancy what she has craved. A most excellent book and we'll worth the read.

Nancy Zeal is a very successful radiologist in a busy hospital. Her stay at home husband, Sebastian, has been raising their beautiful baby girl while Nancy has her career. Being in control all the time is extremely difficult and Nancy longs to have Sebastian spank her. Unfortunately, he doesn't understand her needs. The Zeal family has now found themselves moved to Cobins bend, a purely spanking community. Sebastian is given the chance to take control of his sneaky wife and get their household in order. Another excellent Corbin's Bend addition!!!! 5 stars!
