Such an enjoyable book!! I loved our heroine Miss Emily Tidwell! She was quite a character for the 1800's and I loved it!! She certainly has some unexpected adventures on her first spy mission, but she definitely comes through! Great story with fun historical facts and many exceptional characters - Janice being one of my favorites!!

This story kept me captivated and intrigued with the mystery, suspense, twists and turns, and various dalliances along with fascinating historical bits and pieces. Mr. Scott uses editorial liberties of history and his creative pen to deliver a tale of espionage by a female to learn more on how the Confederacy was attacking Union ships. The story has naval information, the telegraph, and electricity that our planted spy was able to learn more about in what appears as such an innocent position in the household of the Charles Wheatstone. She is working as a teacher for the children and helping Charles and Matthew Maury in their lab in the evenings, transcribing notes, and eagerly listening to their explanations. There are also several trysts along the way, on the ship, the Great Eastern, and also another in London. The historical element of this story intertwines with a mystery, secrets, dominant control, spankings and sex scenes.
