A great book. It's nice to see someone recover from their past.

I was a bit disappointed with this book. I loved Hild - she was a deeper character than the other female leads that Ms Kay wrote in this series, especially with all she had been through. I also like Gust - he was kind and patient for the most part. I just felt that more time could have been spent developing their relationship. Hild had been so badly abused by her first husband, there is no way she would have so quickly submitted to Gust's discipline. Her fear was very realistic, but then it was suddenly over and she submitted with no emotional repercussions. Other parts of the story were also rushed - I didn't quite understand the point of Siv's dire illness - she was suddenly sick, then all of a sudden better when the men returned. Overall, a good read, but needed more time spent on plot lines. I really hope that their father gets his due in the next book as well - he is a meddlesome old man!

LOVE!!! I absolutely loved this book!! Not only did I read the other two Viking's Thrall books, but this one tugged at my heartstrings from the very first page! Hild was such a great character; she had a terribly abusive first marriage, and yet was still able to love with her whole heart. The way she meets Gust, by first encountering his son Hadd, sets the entire story off perfectly! To me, this was a wonderfully sweet, romantic tale that I will read again and again!!

I absolutely love this book! This series has been one of my favorites and this story does not disappoint. I spent the whole time reading this story with a smile on my face. The heroine, Hild, is damaged from a previous abusive marriage but shows incredible courage in finding love again. Gust, the hero, shows great compassion and character when dealing with Hild’s concerns and scars. You cannot help to fall in love with Hadd – what a well written young boy who almost steals the story. This author provides a wonderful update on the loving couples from the previous two books and I actually liked Magnus, the ever meddling father in this book. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

Joannie Kay is one of my favorite authors. I have read all of her Viking Series books a few times and this one is a great addition to the series. I have to love the interfering but well meaning father. I was so glad to see that Hild, who was abused terribly by her first husband is able to overcome her fears and fall in love with the man her father has chosen for her. He too is recovering from a terrible first marriage. It is all about learning to trust and love again. It was also nice to catch up with the characters from the first two books.

This is the third book in the Viking Thrall Series but can easily read as a standalone. Magnus is a father who feels it is his duty to be a matchmaker and arrange marriages for his children. Daughter Hild is widowed after the death of her abusive husband, Jon. During their marriage there never were any children, so she believes herself barren. Magnus had found a new mate for Hild, but she is against marriage. Sitting outside thinking, a young boy, Hadd, comes to her and then she meets his father, Gust. Why couldn’t her father pick someone like that, and what happens when it turns out he is the man Magnus has arranged for her to meet and wed? Gust is a warrior that will protect her and their keep but is able to be stern but fair in dealing with his wife when needed. There are plenty of spankings but always given in love. The story line is interesting and easy to follow, but the writing style overuses names and endearments. At the end of book 3, we do learn there will be a book 4.

I absolutely loved this series and this cut tent one did not disappoint. It was nice meeting old friends from the other books as well as the new. Hild is married to an abusive bully. When he dies, her father tries to set her up with a new man. Hild doesn't want to be married, but through amazing circumstances she is remarried, to a man named Gust. He is totally different than Jon, her first husband. Wonderful romance with family love, a few spankings and an excellent read.

This is a great addition to the series! I loved it. My heart broke for Hild and I am so happy her life took a fabulous turn. It was quite nice to catch up with Ulf and Kristin as well. I hope there will be another in the series!

I love the Viking series and this book is a very good follow up. Poor Child was abused by her first husband and has no interest in marrying again but her Father has other ideas. This series is full of fun, spankings and lots of love and interfering parents. Each book catches up with characters met before and meets new ones. They are well written and vividly described. I highly recommend it.

Great book! I have read the other two books in the Viking Series and all the characters in those books are back in this one! All Joannie Kay's books have a lot of dialog which is always good! This family has a lot of love for each other and there are plenty of spankings to go around. I gave this book 5 stars!
