After Olivia stubbornly refuses to participate in the London season two years in a row, her mother arranges a marriage for her with Armand Bainbridge. Armand is in the same position in that he is being forced to marry in order to secure his inheritance. They are both attractive people who have not conformed to society's norms. They dislike each other upon meeting but cannot deny their attraction. Armand proposes they marry then live separately, in secret, for awhile until they become used to the idea of marriage. However, the more time they spend together, the more they begin to like each other. Armand finds Olivia witty and so different from most young women, but quickly deals with her bad behavior by spanking her. She is shocked but helpless to stop him. Can they live in peace? Can they come to care for each other? This is such a fun and engaging read!

I really enjoyed the characters in this story! Olivia, as the only girl in a family full of boys, was just about as you would expect her to be: a bit on the outspoken, tom-boyish side!! Her parents (especially her mother) know that she will not be married at all if left to her own devices, and they set up a marriage. Her intended, Armand, doesn't seem to want to be married much either, as he isn't seemingly ready to get rid of his "fun"!! The story is funny, has a few well deserved spankings, and although it went a bit too fast for me, I'm hoping for some sequels...

I loved this story and enjoyed the uniqueness of the two main characters who have to both deal with meddling mothers as they find their happily ever after. Great Read!

This is a fun historical romance with sexy punishment spankings and engaging characters. I would love a second in this series to get to know characters better

The story had humorous side to it, it was just missing some meet to it.  Lord Armand Bainbridge to me was definitely a cad in my books, and Oliva was one mixed up girl, she definitely need what more spanking. Over all not a bad story, if you something more lite and humorous. Then this would be a great story.

I am sorry to say that I cannot give a 5 star. The ending felt to rushed and the HEA seemed to be thrown on the end with him suddenly deciding he was giving her space, rather than him just wanting to keep after his mistress. I was not impressed. I think this author will be great with a bit more development, and if she was to be reading this I hope it isn't taken harshly. More of constructive criticism. I like the story line just a little more development of caring would be nice.

Likeable story with a unconventional Heroine and a wild rake of a Hero. The very best kind of characters. Of course neither is ready or willing to settle down until their dear Mums' step in. I found the hero a little too much of a "cake and eat it too" but alas that was the period where men thought that way. I like the heroine as she was spunky and did not find it necessary to marry so soon but again the period dictates otherwise. This was a romantic cute story with a little spanking but not really erotic. So if you like romance with a spunky heroine and redeemable rake, give this a whirl.

I enjoyed this quick read and the theatrics of both Lady Olivia and Lord Bainbridge. Neither wanted to marry, but their meddling mothers have different plans. Lord Armand Bainbridge is definitely a rake with a string of willing girls in town, settling down is not in his plans. Lady Olivia Rowley has refused two seasons in London and now her mother has convinced her father that this marriage is in the best interest of their wayward, unladylike, tomboy daughter. The chemistry between Olivia and Armand is electrically charged with both animosity and eventually sexual attraction. The plot kept me captivated and even had moments where I was laughing out loud. The dialog is witty and the interaction between the characters humorous. In the end, maybe mothers do know what is best for their children.

I absolutely loved this story and only hope that there is a second book to see how Armand and Olivia get on. This was a delightful, well written story and I could picture it as it was so well discribed. The spanking was mild and watching two people that were made for each other finally realize it.
