This is a mixed book for me. It has taken me a long time to write the review because it includes elements I am not fond of and had I know, I probably wouldn't have picked this book up for a review. Ms. Blake is a new to me author who does a credible job of writing domestic discipline from a romantic sweep my feet off fantasy perspective. Her writing voice is fine and her plot development works. Her characters situation killed it for me. Pam Weston is a woman who received a totally raw deal. Her prison sentence reeks of incompetent lawyers. From my perspective, her mother and teachers did a disservice to her. Children should be protected not abused. This is a hot button for me. If you have issues or triggers with references to pedophilia, it is best to avoid this book. Pam is a strong character in some ways. She is also a person who is easily taken advantage of which is so clearly demonstrated in this book. Pam still has some issues with her past abuse, and what happens? She is hired into a company by a CEO who wants to take her under his stern patronizing hand. Let me think, abused child who now has a boss who misuses his authority. How is this even supposed to be remotely romantic? If this is dark erotic, I'd totally dig it. It is not. This is supposed to be romance. It came across as creepy stalker obsessive. It is one step away from beloved pet slaughtered and left on the door step creepy. Let's look at Robert Peterson. He is a man who can have any woman, more or less. Who does he pick? He likes to "fix" women who have broken self-esteem through his brand of tough love. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Keep in mind, this man has no degree or training in helping others. He just believes his rules, spanking and caning will magically cure a woman to become a confident and independent woman. Yes, one must suspend disbelief to continue with this book. Robert is high handed, self-righteous and a bit condescending. He has all the earmarks of a domestic abuser. However, this is fiction so he is the rich alpha male taking control and giving Pam tough loving. For some, this is romantic. For me, it means jail time because I'd have killed Robert. Now, I'm a fan of domestic discipline. I also love men who are dominating and who lay down the rules. This one came across a bit difficult to swallow because of Pam's background. If she wasn't so fucked up, it would have been sexy and erotic. As it is, it felt too predatory for a romance. Still, if one ignores Pam's history, the kinky domestic discipline scenes are erotic. Ms. Blake captures the essence of domestic discipline. Her execution is fine; it is the interpretation which leaves a jaded reader wanting. Recommended for kinky readers who love white knights saving a damsel theme.

CEO Rob arranges for Pam, just out of prison, to work for him. To be his admin, she must agree to his methods, which she does. They fall in love very quickly, but Pam has low self-esteem and needs reassurance that he loves her for who she is and isn't just his next welfare project. The ending was very sweet, and I hope she doesn't keep running away from him!

I found this to be an exceptional book! It was so VERY well written!! In-depth characters, strong and damaged heroine, and deeply caring and controlling hero, and long enough to tell this story to it's fullest!!! Pam and Rob really made a perfect match for me...at least by the end. You'll have to read it to fill in all the wonderful in-between!! Absolutely fantastic!

Pam has had a very difficult life and yet she's very strong and determined in a lot of ways in my opinion. She's doing her best to integrate into society and be as successful as possible. Rob is a very astute and ultimately nurturing person who wants to help, However he's also an alpha and sometimes his stubbornness cause difficulties in this burgeoning relationship. It was an interesting view into a domestic discipline relationship that was not romantic initially, and I appreciated seeing the transition from boss/employee to something more.

Why are we turned on by strong dominant caring men that tell us what to do? I don't know but if that does it for you this is a great read. Pam has had a very difficult life and her new boss Rob is determined to help her with her insecurities. She becomes his submissive and he helps her deal with her self image and other problems. This story is well written and entertaining. I enjoyed the character of Krista, Pam's best friend.

First of all, let me say I love Kathryn Blake's books. She not only writes about intense D/d relationships, she also has a good grasp on the emotional relationship between those people. This story is about Pamela. Pamela is on parole from prison. She is asked to be the personal assistant of Rob Peterson. Rob is pretty intense, and he requires a corporal relationship with his assistants. Pageland agrees and there is where the story starts. This is an intense book that is well written. It is very hard to describe the relationship between Rob and Pamela in this review. You really need to read about it. I stayed up way too late trying to finish this book and ended up not being able to finish it before having to go to work. Believe me, I was very eager to finish reading the next day. I was blown away by this book. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it to everybody.

I love alpha men but I found the hero a little abrupt in his take over manner. For me there is a line that I don't want to see the hero cross, and he comes awfully close at times. That being said it was s positive story about a woman who thought there wasn't much good to hope or expect for her future and found that 2nd chances and happiness can come true.

This book was a wonderful “Lesson in Love” – as Robert showed extraordinary patience and affection in dealing with the multiple insecurities of Pam. She had a rough life, before going to work for Robert; and it took a lot of caring and loving by Robert in order for Pam to get past the negative effects of her previous life. The sex is mild, and the spankings are given in a caring way befitting someone who really is trying to correct behavior, not cause any injury. I really enjoyed reading the book.

This was an amazing book about a strong alpha male and a lovely woman with low confidence and low self esteem with a horrific childhood. The dominant man uses domestic discipline to help heal the young woman and is an awesome love story that left me feeling good and I didn't want it to end.

50 shades meets Bared to you with a Kathryn Blake twist. Discipline is a strong theme in this story and the alpha Dom in this book had Christian Grey beat by spades. Strong Hero, damaged heroine story.

I found this book to be a very thoughtful and heart-warming story. Pam, a damaged woman, has a heart of gold but very serious self-esteem and self-worth issues due to her terrible childhood. Rob, a very successful CEO, is a very dominant man and believes that he can help Pam with her self-esteem issues through the use of domestic discipline. Although I don’t necessarily agree with Rob’s methods of invading Pam’s privacy to set this whole experience in motion, this book provides a wonderful and uplifting story of how both people grow personally as a result of their relationship. Definitely a story that leaves the reader with a smile on his/her face and a feeling of happiness.
