Who Would Have Thought A Cinderella story with another happy ending. This Cinderella would NEVER return to rags again. Quite a surprise for Becky Wilson, the farm girl Lady Clara & Lord Markland decided to bring into their crazy scheme. Would love to read more about these characters.

I found this story to be very interesting and well-written. The author was able to draw me into Becky's story right away. I loved reading about her transformation into Lady Clara. Becky was a thoroughly likable character, as was Victor. I loved reading about their various interactions, and Becky's experiences being a member of "the ton". Becky was a much stronger, more caring person than the true Lady Clara, who I found immature and selfish. The only negative aspect was the short, abrupt ending. I would have liked to have read about Clara's family's reaction to her deceit, as well as the new friends that Becky made. I have a hard time believing that all would forgive her so readily. Also, there were only 2 rather mild spankings. If you are looking for more of a spanking story, you won't find it here. But a good overall Victorian romance/adventure.

Becky was asked to impersonate Lady Clara Prescott in her London season. Becky shared a number of facial characteristics. Lady Clara didn't want to go through the season. Lady Clara and Mr Markland trained Becky for a fortnight on the proper way to act. After meeting Becky, Lord Victor Hayward became suspicious. Would he expose her true identity?

Really enjoyed this book by Amelia Wren. Amelia turned her life upside down to become Lady Clara and her adventures along the way made for a great read.

When Becky Wilson is asked to take part in a ruse to disguise herself as Lady Clara for the season, she agrees, simply because it will help her family. She never thought she would meet Lord Victor and begin to fall in love. Nor did she think he would see right through Thomas and Clara's ruse. Lady Clara is a rather forward thinking lady for her day and age and detests the idea of attending the London season and having to attend party after party. She looks so much like Becky that she gets her to pretend to be her. Becky was raised on a farm and has never been to a party. She does clean up well though and the only person she doesn't manage to trick is Lord Victor. He however sees right through the ruse and punished Becky for her part in it. He also becomes quite captivated with Becky. This was a truly original plot for this Victorian novel. It was very interesting to follow. I really enjoyed this book.

This was a delightfully fun read where two look alike young ladies switch places in the Victorial London season. A bit like the Prince and the Pauper, a hard working farm girl who dreams of being a lady and a young Lady ahead of her time with a friend and lover. After intense training the fun begins. The plot was involved with twists and turns and of course a happy ever after.

I enjoyed this Cinderella-style story where two women exchange places during the London season. Becky Wilson is a commoner farm girl, and all she has known in life is hard work. Lady Clara Prescott is a free spirit and abhors the whole season that society dictates. Clara’s friend and lover, Mr. Thomas Markland knows that Becky and Clara look so much alike, and they devise the plan to train her in etiquette, and she will present as Lady Clara. Shockingly the plan seems to work well until Lord Victor Hayworth enters the picture. How far can they go with the switch before Becky is revealed as a fraud playing Lady Clara? The plot of the story kept me captivated and the pages turning as Becky learns how to become Lady Clara and can present herself to the echelon of London peers as a true lady. The dialog and scenes are entertaining. Best of all, everything works out for Becky in the end with an HEA ending.
