Charlotte Heffington can no more ignore Wes Montgomery's coercion into a short affair than she could forget the erotic experiences he gave her their one night together. After several exciting, pleasure-filled trysts, she starts questioning whether she would be able to walk away unscathed and accept the future her cousin has mapped out for her – or be left to crave the pleasures only Wes could give her. When Wes turns on her, she’s finally had enough of others manipulating her life and vows to take control of her future.

Wes swore off relationships after a betrayal left him bitter towards women, but he reluctantly finds himself drawn to a woman who looked completely out of her comfort zone when she walked into a downtown bar one Friday night. After caving to her inexperienced come-on and his uncharacteristic response, he spends an unforgettable night with her. A week later, a chance meeting reveals her true identity and he feels taken in all over again. In a rash move, he blackmails her into an affair that turns the tables on him when he finds himself feeling things for her he’s never felt for another woman. Hearing she’s engaged shatters his belief in happily ever after again, and his angry tirade when he confronts her separates them on a bitter note.

After learning the truth, Wes tries to make amends, but when that fails, he resorts to drastic, pleasurable means to convince her to give him another chance. Will it be enough?

Blackmailed is the fourth book in the Virginia Bluebloods series and while it can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, don’t miss the other titles in this incredible series: Blindsided, book one, Bind Me To You, book two and Surrender To Me, book three.

DISCLAIMER: This book contains the spanking of adult women, and explicit sexual scenes including BSDM. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase this book.

I've really enjoyed all of the books that I've read in this series & with this being the final of the friends I'm sad to see the end of it. All stories have had similar veins but each have been individual & this is no exception. My heart ached for Charlie who was in bad situations all around her. I also loved the glimpses into the insecurity present in Wes. A great conclusion.

I loved this series and I hope this is not the end. The characters are well developed and the scenes hot. The writing is evocative and entices the reader's feelings for the characters. It draws you in on an emotional journey that makes this book hard to put down. The scenes are hot and the sex spicy. I love this author and highly recommend this book and series.

I really loved this book and can’t believe the series is over (I hope that someway it can continue), I would recommend this whole series. In this book Charlotte, who grew up with a restricted childhood due to having leukaemia and an overprotective father, is trapped between her love for her sick father and her passion for her work at the Children’s home, these leave her vulnerable to blackmail by her cousin. Charlotte decides that if she has to give-in to the blackmail from her cousin, then she should try to work on her bucket list while she has a chance, number one ‘sex with a stranger’. We finally find out what happened between Wes and Katie and this has left him very cynical about women. When he meets Charlotte, he thinks the worst about her and he blackmails her into having an affair with him, as the affair continues we see Wes struggle to sort out his feelings and convince himself that what he feels isn’t real. Charlotte is torn by the pressure from all side and keeps her personal life private which continues to feed Wes’ cynicism. This book draws you into the emotion turmoil of the characters and while it can be read as a stand-alone book, we get to catch up with the characters from the previous books. I received this as an ARC from the publisher for an honest review.

Another great read in the series. I really enjoyed the characters from previous books taking part, and Wes was no disappointment as an alpha lead character. Charlotte's character was likable and well developed. Enjoyed the story!

I very much enjoyed this book, it was superbly written. It was nice to finally find out why Wes's relationship with Kate had ended in a previous book. Charlotte who's nickname is Charlie has been dealing with a form of leukemia since she was a child which caused her father to be very over protected of her as she grew up which then meant she had missed out on a lot of things. She met Wes when she decided to check off her bucket list,to have a one stand with a complete stranger. My heart went out to Charlie because of all that she missed. My emotions came in to play again another few times when Wes kept putting Charlie in the same category as Kate. Both Charlie and Wes were in the wrong for not being total honest with each other. But in the end the author did a superb job how she ended the book. I think this book can be read as a standalone but the reader would enjoy it that much more if read in order of the series.

Get it. Really! I thought this book was a terrific ending to the Virginia Bluebloods series of books. I had to read the book in one sitting because the storyline, the characters and the descriptions were compelling and completely pulled me in. There are, of course, some tantalizing glimpses at the characters from the other 3 books. The plot felt realistic and was interesting. I don't give too many books 5 stars, but this one deserved it.

What an amazing continuation of this series! This book was just as entertaining and thoughtful as the previous three books in this series. I do recommend that you read this book in the correct order as the previous three stories set the tone for this one. I loved the two main characters, Charlie and Wes. The author has a wonderful way of shaping her characters so that not only do you like them – you love them. Charlie is just an amazing lady that although she comes from incredible money, is someone that I would love to sit down and talk with all day. I think at the end of that day our relationship would be one of friendship and respect. Wes is just an incredible dominant man that has so many upside perks. Their relationship in this book has difficult times and a rocky beginning but is one that you feel will prosper for many years. The author also does a great job providing updates on all the couples from the previous books. Definitely a must read!!!

Blackmailed is the fourth book in the Virginia Bluebloods series but can also be read as a standalone novel. Many characters from previous books take part in Wes and Charlie's story. They met in an unconventional way and continued as they started.. Wes has been burned in a previous relationship and has trust issues. The lack of trust is compounded by Charlie's secretive nature. While she is being controlled by several people and pulled in different directions, she still tries to live her life and experience all the things life has to offer. This couple faces ups and downs but experience great sex scenes, spankings, BDSM, and a lot of love. This story was well written and leaves it where the author can continue with secondary characters if they choose to extend the series. I highly recommend taking the time to read not only this great book, but also, the entire series!! BJ Wane has come through for her fans once again!!!

Good bedtime reading on 07/18/2016 02:23am
Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone novel but does interact with characters from previous books which tie the series together. Charlotte Heffington has overcome childhood leukemia and is looking to break-out of the 'bubble' her over-protective and wealthy father has smothered her in. She has made a bucket list she intends to fulfil which includes sex with a stranger. This is how she meets Wes Montgomery one night while she bar-crawls. His protective instincts come to the forefront when he espys her innocent persona and so starts her introduction to sex-with-kinks. In the background is her cousin Phil who is blackmailing her into marriage with his friend...as well as the issues Wes has with a past relationship...plus the ill-health of her much beloved father and the intricacies of her inheritance...and her love of the Heffington Foundation for under-privileged children which heads.

This contemporary romance is full of suspense. We learn what has been haunting Wes ever since his relationship with Katie abruptly ended. I began this book eager to learn more about Wes and while that never changed, I was drawn to Charlotte ("Charlie"). If only I could go inside the story and give her a hug... While in the book, I would want to punch a certain greedy bastard, but luckily that is accomplished by someone else. The story opens with Charlotte completing the first item on her bucket list: sleep with a stranger. One twist -that stranger is Wes and both he and Charlie have instant chemistry. Will Wes ever be able to trust another woman again after Katie's deception and betrayal? Will Charlotte have the courage to pursue the man she truly desires? Like all the other books in the series, there is plenty of explicit sex scenes that make you pant. The four main male characters may have their happy endings (pun intended), and now it is time to hear about Dale and his close buddy, Eli. A menage romance, perhaps?

This was a worthy end to the series. The emotion was heartfelt. Charlie's struggles when pulled by the main male characters in her life was painful but inspiring as she showed courage and fortitude and she stood up for herself in the end. Wes also struggled because of his own baggage and perhaps should have grovelled a bit more at the end but Charlie was generous and forgiving. Thoroughly enjoyable read!

The plot is full of angst, passion, new experiences, control, emotional situations and being pulled in so many directions you don’t know what to do. From being blackmailed by a family member trying to force an unwanted marriage, her passion trying to help disadvantaged children, to being blackmailed by another into sexual servitude, has Charlie being a pawn in so many games. The plot twists have you admiring Charlie for sticking to her agreement, never revealing the truth, her jubilant experiences of the simple things with childlike enthusiasm to her ultimate surrender to the passion that Wes helps her experience. The interaction and dialog of the characters are heartwarming, emotional and even entertaining. The chemistry between Wes and Charlie is explosive with passion and desire, even if they each try to deny their true feelings. Sometimes in life, you have to ignore everyone else and allow yourself the freedom to feel and experience life, love and happiness, no matter what the cost, and maybe, just maybe, in the end, you will get your happily ever after ending.

This forth story was a great finish for this quartet of hot and dominate men. Charlotte (Charlie) has had a life of stifling protectiveness and yearns to experience some of what life has to offer, so her bucket list is born. When it turns out her anonymous sex with a stranger ends up being with someone -Wes-who pops up in her real life, Charlie is pulled into feelings and desires she never even imagined. Blackmailed by loyalty on one end and by Wes on the other, the story takes on her journey of finding her true sexual and personal 'self'. It is not necessary to have read the prior three books in the series but if you have/do, you'll enjoy how those characters have been interwoven in this installment.
