There's a girl’s trip in the works. All the girls have planned and plotted for months. Everything must work out just right for them to be able to talk the guys into this trip. All is on track until Allie, of all people, lands in hot water. Cassie and Sue do their best to help her out and keep the hope of the trip alive too.

Behaving is always a struggle for Cassie. She does try but, unfortunately, there are situations–completely beyond her control, at least in her eyes, that keep landing her on the wrong side of Tom’s spanking hand.As Cassie continues to end up in trouble, there are some interesting new friends, maybe a little rougher than Tom would want her associating with, who want to help her too.

Chapter One

There must be something about river living that grows families. Tom and I have always been a family unto ourselves. Although we’ve always had dear friends, Tom and I lived across the country from our loved ones for nearly twenty-five years. While I missed having our best friends close, Tom was the dearest of all, and our lives were extremely happy with just the two of us.

However, when we moved to the river just over five years ago, our family tree seemed to blossom. We had visited at what is now our river home many time over the years and I’d noticed the neighbor children without paying close attention. But when we bought our home, Allie, the little girl from next door, had just turned sixteen. This dark haired, green-eyed beauty was blossoming into an incredible young woman.

I was quite surprised that Allie and I bonded quickly into a deep friendship. She made me feel quite young as we swam, boated and skied together and she also made me feel wise as I became her confidant and adviser—a role that often had Tom shaking his head in amused disbelief.

We did bring a little something to the party to be sure. Ryan was the young man who took care of the lawn at our old home. Since the river was not that far from our old place, Ryan was a frequent visitor as he helped us design our new home’s lawn and garden. Ryan had always been special to me—I’ve loved him since he was fifteen. I’d enjoyed watching Ryan transform from a skinny teen, barely taller than me to an extremely handsome man. Tom and I never had children of our own and I would often daydream that Ryan was ours.

The very first time Ryan and Allie laid eyes on one another I saw a definite spark, and goodness was I right. Dreams were filled right and left as those two fell in love. They are to be married after Allie graduates from college. And to pile on wonders, through many strange twists of fate, we were able to legally adopt Ryan and my daydreams of actually being his mother came true.

The draw of the river soon reached across the country and my two dearest friends—my sisters for more than fifty years, Sue and Annie, chose to come and live close. There is no way I can describe what these wonderful women mean to me. They each own part of my heart, part of my soul just as Tom does. They were my friends before Tom, they, with the help of their husbands, kept me alive during my first marriage. That marriage was a horror that only ended with my first husband’s unexpected death. And they continued to try their best to keep me from going over the edge into the abyss in the wild years that fell between my becoming a widow and my finding Tom.

Sue and Steve moved here nearly three years ago, while Annie and Andy are still working on the renovations on the house they bought this past December. With their move to the east coast, I truly felt my ‘family’ was complete.

Little did I know another family member was waiting in the wings.

Lily came to our family most recently. Describing Lily and how she fit into our family has been difficult. In appearance, Lily would be easy enough to describe—she is a tall, stout, black woman in her early forties, who possesses the energy of a twenty-year-old. She currently acts as chief cook and bottle washer for all three families on an alternating basis, and has her own mother-in-law suite at Annie and Andy’s. And by Lily’s way of thinking, she owns the whole lot of us body and soul.

Lily has always been a study in contrasts to me, her hugs, a simply touch to a hand or a face can make you feel as if the angels from heaven have come down to minister to you, yet in the next moment she can begin fussing and scolding so you’d think Lucifer himself were after you. I’d never known anyone in my life who was more bossy than Lily, and that includes Tom, who previously held the title.

Seemly from the first moment she arrived, she could drive Sue and I crazy with the million or so things she thinks we do wrong—top most, her opinion that our wine consumption was excessive. To keep life as fair as we can, Sue and I have done our best to drive Lily crazy, too. However, everyone was stunned when Tom recently blurted out our family secret to Lily.

My dear Tom is an old fashioned man. He believes the man to be the undisputed head of the household and he believes in domestic discipline as a way to keep peace and tranquility in a marriage. To put it plainly, Tom is a spanker. Tom spanks me for many reasons, and at times I do love it. He spanks for fun, for reconnection, for stress relief, often for erotic reasons and all of these reasons have had my full an undying support. Unfortunately, he also spanks for disciplinary reasons. If he feels I’ve lied to him, put myself in danger, or I’ve gone out of my way to break one of our established rules, he will most definitely spank. I’m much less in favor of these reasons, but I’ve learned to live with them.

Tom and I were alone in this particular lifestyle for the vast majority of our marriage, but over the past several years Steve—with Sue’s reluctant approval—has incorporated spanking into their marriage as well, a decision which brought them much closer. Ryan and Allie joined the ranks, most likely because Tom has long been Ryan’s mentor. Allie viewed this development, one she fully consented to, much the same way I have over the years—delighting in the fun spanking to being not quite on board with the discipline. Annie, sweet woman she is, is not spanked, though she has received a swat or two over the years.

Although we’d kept this secret from Lily when she first came to work for us Tom decided not long ago that Lily needed this information. I was not happy about his decision, but I did know it would come out sooner or later.

So our family, such as it is, was thriving here on the river and we were all looking forward to spring and the ultimate arrival of summer wondering what adventures might come our way.

Chapter Two

We all had to take a deep breath once Lily knew about our secret. She acknowledged it, but she still didn’t approve of ‘men-folk hitting their women, no matter what you called it.’ But she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that we were all well loved by our men, and none of us was abused in any way.

I was behaving well, as always, and this was partly to let Lily become adjusted to what she’d learned. Tom seemed to want her to adjust well, too, and his method for this led him to become swat happy at home. He was constantly popping my butt. It almost reminded me of when we got Willow. He spanked me every day when we first got her so that she would accept it as normal. I think he was trying to do the same thing with Lily.

So, peace pretty much reigned here for over a week, until a few days ago when Allie called.

“Cassie, Drew was supposed to take me across the river to meet Ryan, and he’s not back yet. Ryan says he’ll come get me, but that’s going to take over an hour. Do you think you and Tom could run me over there in our boat?”

“No problem sweetie, Tom’s golfing, but I’ll take you.”

“Wait, is that going to get you in trouble?”

“You know Tom said last year I could take the boat out alone for short rides. I don’t think he’d mind me doing a favor for you children, do you?”

“I guess not. If you’re ready to go soon come on, there’s something I want to show you up river.”

“I’ll be there soon as I change.” I told her. Spring or not, it’s still cool. I put on thick jeans and a turtleneck and started out the door.

“Where you going’?” Lily wanted to know.

“I’m taking Allie across the river. Now don’t get your panties in a twist!” I said as I saw her starting to puff up. “Tom lets me take the boat out alone if I’m careful. I wear my life jacket. I should be home before Tom. Don’t worry.”

“You ought to call him and ask,” Lily said firmly.

I waved her away. “I’ll be back in half an hour.” And I was out the door before she could say more.

Allie and I took off up river. “You have to see this place Ryan showed me.” Allie was telling me and she took me to a cove we’ve passed many times, but Tom and I have rarely had our boat out this early in the season. It was incredible! On the bank, for nearly as far as you could see were crocus—yellow, white, pink, and purple, it looked like a fairyland.

It was so nice to be with just Allie for a while. There always seems to always be so many of us together these days that I’ve hardly had any time one on one with her. We talked a little about the wedding. She’s having a little struggle with her mom. Kate wants a bigger wedding than Allie and Ryan want. I’m staying as far out of the planning as I can. Kate is a friend for sure, but sometimes I feel she is a little jealous that Allie and I are so close. No date has been set for the wedding yet, but I’m guessing next summer.

It was time to meet Ryan so we headed to the landing. I let her out, gave Ryan a wave and started back. But it was such a pretty day, I decided to make a quick run up river to see more of the spring flowers and flowering trees. My goodness we do live in a beautiful place on this earth. The old trees, swaying moss, mixed in with all the spring blooms… simply lovely.

I went a big farther than I’d planned. When I thought to check the time I saw that I’d been gone well over an hour. Not good! Tom was probably home by now. Reaching for my phone to call and check in, I wondered why they hadn’t called me. That’s when I realized I hadn’t grabbed my phone when I changed clothes.

I swear if I ever get my hands on the person who invented the cell phone, I’m going to strangle them. It’s caused me way more problems than it’s ever helped me out. I don’t remember to grab it, or it’s in my purse and I can’t hear it. I had a feeling that because of the stupid phone my beautiful spring afternoon had a big dark cloud over it.

Chapter Three

I had no doubt I was in trouble. I headed back quickly, and sure enough as I came in view of our dock, Tom was standing there, waiting, hands on hips. That particulate stance made my heart sink. He said nothing as he helped me tie up at Allie’s dock. He continued to say nothing as I removed my life jacket and climbed out.

“I messed up,” I told him. “I’m sorry honey. I never meant to be gone so long, but goodness the banks are so beautiful, both sides. Come out with me, I’ll show you.” I didn’t have much hope that this was going to work but why not try?

It didn’t work. “I have something I need to take care of before we do any sightseeing.” Tom told me firmly, taking my hand. I had to sigh, so much for trying to be good.

Entering the house, I was suddenly hit by hurricane Lily. “Where you been?” Was her first question and I was enveloped in a worried hug. “You told me you’d be right back and you didn’t take your phone! What’s wrong with you?”

“I’m sorry, Lily! I lost track of time and I forgot to grab my phone when I changed. I didn’t mean to worry you.”

“Well you did! I was afraid that boat wrecked and you drown! You ought not go off by yourself like that.” Lily sat on a stool and I realized from her relieved look that she had truly been worried.

“She’s about to find out how I feel about her being gone so long and not taking her phone. Join me in the bedroom please,” Tom told me.

I am sure I blushed, regardless of how long we’ve had this life style I still fine it very uncomfortable when someone else is aware I’m to be spanked. I wasn’t, however, prepared for Lily’s reaction. Evidently it hadn’t occurred to her that Tom was going to spank me for this. As realization dawned on her she seemed startled.

“Now wait a minute, that ain’t no reason to whip her. She said she was sorry. You could just—”

“Lily,” Tom said gently, but firmly, “I’m the head of this household, these decisions are mine alone. If you’re not comfortable, we’ll handle dinner and you can head on back to Annie’s. We’ll see you tomorrow.”

There seemed to be a slight stand-off between the two. Then Lily turned and headed to the kitchen, but she was not happy. My own emotions were confused. I was about to be spanked, but I was worrying about Lily. Of course, Tom made sure he got my attention back pretty quick.

“Do you know what I’m upset about?”

“Tom of course, but it was just a little mistake and—”

“Not a mistake girl. It was fine to take Allie to meet Ryan. It wasn’t even the worse thing to go looking at the flowers, but you should have called and told Lily where you were and what you were doing.”

“But Tom, I forgot my phone.”

“Exactly, but if you’d taken the time to call Lily then you’d have realized that.” Tom’s logic is always flawless.

Tom wasn’t extremely angry, but he’s adamant about that darn phone. And he didn’t waste any more time as he unsnapped my jeans and pulled me across his lap. How many times has Tom spanked me? Yet that first swat makes me jump every time, he starts out too hard. He spanked steadily until I was stinging all over.

“Ow, Tom, that’s enough. Stop now,” I hissed. I certainly didn’t want to be loud. Sound-proof or not, I was worried about Lily hearing something. Tom was unaffected and he hadn’t even started talking. Tom reached to pull down my panties, but I grabbed at them whispering, “No, no!”

“Girl, what’s gotten into you?” Tom wanted to know.

It was hard to explain, but I could just feel Lily peeping though the keyhole—highly unlikely, since we don’t have a keyhole, but you know what I mean.

The feeling surely didn’t slow Tom much. I lost the panty fight quickly and he proceeded to redden every square centimeter of skin on my bottom and thighs. Big bully! He was talking, I wasn’t listening—sorry, I know that sounds awful, but I have heard the phone lecture before. I hadn’t left it on purpose. And although I’ve heard him say that a stinging bottom helps me listen better, it can have the opposite effect. My owing can drown out his words.

He finally started rubbing and my body relaxed over his lap when I felt him reach in the nightstand, I assumed for the lotion. But no, he reached for that damn slipper. I barely had time to cry out, “Wait, don’t!” Before that evil pinching thing was flying at my sit spot. He didn’t use it long, but enough to leave me stinging and feeling tender for the rest of the day.

Tom stood me up, “I told you I wanted peace, girl, I hope you understood what I meant.”

“You’re just mean,” I told him, still annoyed. “I’ve been good as gold and you know I didn’t do any of that on purpose.”

“I know. But you should have purposely come back when you told Lily you’d be here.” Honestly, there is just no arguing with Tom. I started to redress properly when Tom stopped me. “Panties,” he said holding out his hand, “Let me have them.”

“No! Tom, that’s just hateful after you used that stupid slipper.” He said no more, just stood there with his hand out. I was mad, I kicked off my jeans and the panties went flying too. “There!” I told him angrily, “Get them yourself.”

Why do I do and say such stupid things when I’m standing there half naked with the slipper still right there on the bed? Putting his foot on the bed rail he pulled me back over one knee and I got another ten hard slipper pops to my sit spot on either side. Tom let go and I was clutching my bottom and dancing in place trying in vain to relieve the sting.

Tom was just watching me, “Panties, please,” was all he said. I retrieved them and placed them in Tom’s hand, still not quite over my mad, but retaining enough sense to keep my mouth shut. I pulled my jeans back on, not liking the feel without panties.

Tom had no doubt I was still upset with him. He reached over and ran his fingers down the side of my face. I didn’t move, still looking away from him. He came around in front of me and took my face in both his hands forcing me to look at him.

Standing close he whispered, “What in the world would I do without you?” And then he kissed me so lovingly the hairs on the back of my neck tingled. And just like that he changed my whole attitude. That is some special man.

He held me against him for just a minute, and then he said, “We better go out together. Lily may be waiting for me with a rolling pin. You’ll protect me won’t you?”

I ran my fingers through my hair trying to appear as normal as possible. As Tom opened the door and ushered me out. Lily seemed to have been pacing, she headed straight for me when the door opened crushing me in a massive hug.

“Are you all right?” she asked and without waiting for me to reply, she turned on Tom and barked, “Is she all right?”

“Lily,” Tom said softly as he gently took both of her hands in his. This wasn’t something Tom usually did with any woman other than me, but it seemed to melt Lily’s heart much as it does mine. “You never have to worry about Cassie when she’s with me. I’ll never let anything happen to her. You have my word.” He gave us both a smile and said, “You two talk, and I think I’ll walk Willow.”

I admit the word ‘chicken’ crossed my mind—I know he didn’t really want to talk in depth with Lily at the moment, but in reality, I knew it was my conversation to have.
