Visiting the Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort is Mia Evans’s last option. She’s bordering on a nervous breakdown. Everyone in her life she thought she could count on deserted her. And, to make matters worse, she has the foulest case of writer’s block in the history of the world. She figures getting herself out of the prison her apartment in Chicago has become will help jar her life and her writing out of the rut they are in. But she isn’t prepared for the surly, sexy cowboy – who looks like her every dark fantasy come alive – riding into her life on his trusty steed.

Cole Stewart only loved one woman in all his thirty-five years, until he lost her forever and swore he would never love another. Since then he’s had a revolving door with the subs at his lifestyle club Cuffs & Spurs, all with the unwritten rule that he doesn’t get involved or do relationships of any kind, period. That is, until Mia Evans, the burned-out, anxiety ridden author, needing to get away from her real life, nearly runs him over with her car. Seeing the haunted expression in her gaze and a body he craves, the Dom in him knows he must have her, must taste her and feel her writhing beneath him. But will he be willing to risk his heart for the untamed passion he finds in her arms?

Publisher’s Note: This steamy romance contains elements of power exchange.

Chapter One

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” Mia whispered.

Peering at the craggy mountains, she shifted her vehicle into park and killed the engine. She gawked at the main building of the Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort, although resort was a term she would use lightly. It was the furthest thing from a resort Mia had ever viewed. Not that she’d vacationed at a plethora of them in her lifetime but at the few she had visited, there had been pools with sexy bartenders ready to refill your beverage, not miles upon miles of untamed wilderness to behold and brave.

Whereas… this?

Mia was about as out of her element as a whale on dry land. What did she actually know about the great outdoors? Nothing. She wasn’t a survivalist or outdoor enthusiast. The closest she’d come in the last few years to the great outdoors was a walk in the park near her apartment. But here, slate gray spears of rock touched the vast blue sky, almost competing with one another in height and savage beauty. Mountain slopes were blanketed with dense forests of pine and evergreen. The mountains surrounded the resort property, which was nestled inside a lush valley with tall grass and rolling fields. The chestnut-colored log cabins were charming, with a rustic appeal, and blended with the land of rugged outdoors.

Mia was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a breathtakingly beautiful land that filled her with hope and was absolutely terrifying—all at the same time. Fear of the unknown, of being lost, abandoned and alone in the wilderness hummed in her system, right in step with the inherent desire to explore the world around her. She understood she was in a panic-inducing conundrum.

Kind of like the rest of her life.

The sky was a pristine, vibrant sapphire, edged on the distant horizon with dark, threatening cumulonimbus clouds that were supposed to bring the forecasted rain tonight. As she rolled her window down, the crisp, fresh air carried a hint of smoke. A few cabins beyond the main building had tufts of smoke curling up from their chimneys. The nearby fields rode the edge of winter, with a few hardy wildflowers poking through. The precipice of spring was evident with the deciduous trees on the eve of budding even with the bite of a chill in the air.

It was starkly beautiful, and vastly different from the flat plains of Illinois.

How was she supposed to write here?

Fear skittered along her spine. She gripped the wheel. Her heart palpitated, each pulse like a drum beat in her ears. Her palms began to sweat. Clammy perspiration dotted her neck. Acting like a tilt-a-whirl, her stomach tumbled and roiled at the mere thought of putting pen to paper—or, in this instance, words onto the blank screen of her computer. And Mia wondered for the hundredth time whether she just needed to walk away from her life completely with the all too familiar mind-numbing panic eviscerating her control.

Wasn’t that why she was in the middle of nowhere? To get away from her daily life, maybe shake up her malaise a bit, and the horrible, crushing, bone-chilling writer’s block she’d been fighting unsuccessfully for months?

That blank white screen taunted her daily, invaded her nightmares, and left her withering, spiraling into a blinding panic from which Mia feared she would never recover.

That was why she was here. To get away from the prison that her apartment in downtown Chicago had become. To experience life a little bit, instead of watching it from her windows overlooking Lake Michigan.

Mia had withdrawn from life over the last year. She knew that. To be fair, she had never been very extroverted. She’d always had her nose stuck in a book, with a fierce love of knowledge and the profound joy she experienced each time she was sucked into the pages of the latest paperback thriller. Which was why writing books had been such a natural progression for her to make.

After she graduated, Mia had taught American History at Northwestern University. During her first year as a professor, somewhat on a whim, she had written a historical fiction novel, Following the Westward Train, about the westward expansion of the railroad. It had detailed a fictional family who worked in the small tent towns.

It had unexpectedly sold to a New York publisher.

And her writing career took off seemingly overnight. Mia hadn’t been prepared to be thrust into the spotlight, to have her book optioned for a television series on a prominent cable channel.

Nor had it prepared her for Joe Walsh.

He was dashing, attractive, and an inherent charmer. She could still remember when he’d first flashed her a smile with his golden good looks. She’d been too naïve, too sheltered and his betrayal had been her undoing.

Mia wasn’t in the middle of Wyoming to mope about her past, but to forget—even if only for a little while.

She was here to face the million-dollar question: when was she going to finish the next book? Time was passing, too much time, and if she didn’t want to violate the terms of her contract, she had to break through her writer’s block, like, yesterday.

Hence her wild scheme. Spend time in the middle of nowhere and rattle her brain a bit. See if that was the ticket toward surmounting what had become an impenetrable blockade.

In truth, she’d laid a map of the United States out on her desk, closed her eyes, and pointed to a location. It was purely by chance that she had blindly chosen Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It could have as easily been Sheboygan.

Her plan: climb out of her shell. Experience what life had to offer for a change—outside the pages of a book. Considering she’d been acting like a turtle knocked on its back for the last six months, she needed the jolt to her system. And, if luck were on her side, she’d finally finish the third book in her historical fiction series.

It all scared the hell out of her, hence the panic attack the size of a two-ton bomb brewing.

Before she lost her nerve, Mia exited her Audi Q5. She realized, upon scanning the parking lot, that the luxury SUV stood out amidst the pickup trucks and other sport utility vehicles like a swan among a bunch of ducks.

Leaving her luggage in her vehicle, she crossed the expanse of the parking lot, taking in her surroundings. She shivered at the gusts of frosty wind blowing down from the snow-covered mountaintops. Crossing her arms in front of herself against the chill, she realized she should have grabbed her parka from the back seat. Instead, she was in an oversized gray sweatshirt, black yoga pants, and a pair of her favorite Uggs. She’d taken her coat off because between the heated leather seats and heater, it had been downright toasty, and far too warm to wear her big coat for hundreds of miles.

This morning before she’d left the hotel in Cheyenne, she’d piled her hair into one of those messy topknots because it was easier than trying to style the long mass that she wasn’t quite sure what to do with anyway. Growing up, Mia had apparently missed the class on how to be a girlie girl and style your hair properly. Most days, her hair was pulled up out of her way and that was about it. She had no clue how to do anything more exotic than that. Besides, messy topknots were still in. Right? At least she thought they were, and if not, well, she had never jibed with convention anyhow.

Mia entered the lobby and found herself charmed by the décor. The main lodge building was impressive. Glossy wooden pine floors, exposed beam ceilings, and a plethora of stuffed animal heads from bison to elk were on display on the walls. Inside the lobby stood the front desk, which wasn’t one of those sleek modern numbers, but made to look almost like a wooden fence, with thick slats of tawny golden wood on the front and top. She appreciated the Western design, which gave an appearance of age and history to the place. The reception area led into a great room of sorts that contained a huge flat screen television and a stone fireplace, surrounded by an overabundance of sumptuous, chocolate-colored leather sofas. A small bar stood in the corner of the great room and sported the identical Western theme as the registration area.

Behind the registration desk was a blonde woman, roughly around her age. But where Mia felt she looked like a bedraggled escapee from the local loony bin, this woman, in her pretty ivory blouse and pinstripe navy blue blazer, appeared to be a calm and confident businesswoman.

Mia wished she had a tenth of the woman’s poise.

Her face lit up at spying Mia and she said, “Hi, welcome to the Black Elkhorn Lodge. I’m Billie. How can I help you today?”

“I, um, have a reservation,” Mia said in a pained whisper. She kept herself from wringing her hands together, but just barely.

“And your name, hon?” Billie asked, not showing any sign that she thought Mia was crazy.

“It’s Mia. Mia Evans.”

Billie’s smile widened at her name. “Miss Evans, yes, I have you down here as arriving today. It looks like you are going to be with us for a month, correct?”

“Yes.” If she made it that long. She might be carted off to the asylum before then. So…

“Perfect. I will just need your driver’s license and a major credit card for any amenities, since you’ve already paid for your stay in full. We’ve put you in cabin D, and it is just the sweetest little place that I think you will adore. Here are your keys. It’s one of our luxury cabins and an absolute peach. We stocked the refrigerator and pantry as you requested. I put together this packet of all the information about our tours, what to do with your trash, whom to contact if you need after-hours maintenance, and some of the local attractions in the area. If you have any questions about any of the information, just let me or one of the other clerks know and we can help you out. The Elkhorn Restaurant is open until eight every weeknight and nine on the weekends. Trust me, you will want to experience Chef Emily’s cooking. It’s simply out of this world.”

“Okay, thanks.”

Billie whipped out a map and circled a building with a pen. “This is where we are, the main lodge. To get to your cabin, take the road here, make a right when you come to the three-way split in the road, and your cabin will be the last one at the end of the drive.”

“Great.” That way, if she had a total meltdown, there would be fewer people around to witness the spectacle.

“And if there’s anything at all that you need or have a question about, don’t hesitate to contact us here at the front desk,” Billie said and gave Mia a friendly smile.

Perhaps a padded cell or a personality transplant?

But Mia just nodded and replied quietly, “Okay, thank you.”

She scooped up the packet, the map, and keys. Then Billie handed her license and credit card back. With everything clutched in her hands, Mia headed back out to her SUV, setting the packet on the passenger seat.

She started the engine and began backing out of her space—only to slam on her brakes.

Shit! Crap! Dammit!

She blanched. She’d nearly taken out a guy on horseback.

Mia could imagine the headlines now: Famed Author Mows Down Innocent Cowboy! More in the news at eleven!

His Untamed love was a great story that kept me coming back for more. I really enjoyed the thorough character development and got quite attached to Cole and Mia. It's a long story that will have you torn between anticipation and frustration as the two work through their issues, but it's well worth the read!

Mia Evans an esteemed writer suddenly finds herself with writers block. So
she decides to throw caution to the wind and books two weeks at an Lodge and
resort. She is struggling with anxiety and bordering a nervous breakdown. Enters
Cole that she almost runs over him and his horse just backing out of the lodge.
Cole is running away from any girl because he lost his girlfriend in an accident. He does
not do relationship. A bad reminder from his last girlfriend happens to Mia. He vows
to take care of her after being hit by a drunk driver. There are many twists and turns
to get to the points between Mia's entry to the Black Elkhorn Lodge and resort and
her convalescing from her injuries. Everything Anya writes is nothing but the best.

I really liked this story even though I have not read the other books in the Cuffs and Spurs series (yet). I definitely plan to do so now. The sex scenes were scorching and the characters were really likable. The story of Mia and Cole was very interesting and I really wanted to find out how they resolved their mutual attraction with the problems they both were facing.

Another excellent addition to the the Cuffs and Spurs series. As with the previous books in this series, the author is well versed in the BDSM lifestyle. The characters are well developed and woven into the storyline which immediately made me want to know more about their pasts. The multi-layered plot has so much more than romance, there were subtle and not so subtle moments which captivated the depth of emotions of the characters.Mia Evans is in a rut with a bad case of writers block, she travels to to the Black Elkhorn lodge for a month vacation for inspiration.Cole Stewart runs the lodge with his brother, there is little or no joy in his life since the death of the love of his life.He is surly and has sworn off love forever.Problems start when Mia begins to have feelings for Cole, but he is just not interested.Things change when Mia and Cole are stuck in cabin during a snow storm.Cole is a Dom and does not do vanilla sex but he may be in for a big surprise.Sick of fighting his attraction for Mia he is delighted to find her inner submissive streak.Mia's journey into submission was erotic and sensual which brought her and Cole closer together. This book had great character development and plot.it held my attention with the right amount of heat and heart making me one happy reader.

I so wanted to leave a 5* review for this book. There was so much I loved about it. I found Mia endearing & Cole sweet in his protection of her. I like that the other players in the Cuffs and Spurs club get brought in but particularly enjoy that this book is very much about Cole & Mia& can be read as a standalone & still be enjoyed. But after all of that there were 2 problems that made leaving a 5* review impossible for me. Firstly, we are teased throughout the book (almost from the beginning) about something that occurred in Mia's life that led her to escape to Montana. There are hints dropped but no real explanation of what happened in her life. Secondly, while I loved the pace overall, it wrapped up really quickly. This book could easily have been 5* for me apart from those 2 issues.

His party guest by Melinda Barron rakes of mayfair book 5
Andrew finally finds a woman he wants and she turns out to be a thief or so he thought. This story has an amazing mystery. It is full of fun and discipline. This is book5 of the Rakes of Mayfair series . it can be a stand alone book but you are really missing a real treat if you don%u2019t read the rest of this series. They are all full of delightful mysteries and love. I cannot put these books down. Excellent read

The parts of the story that was there was okay, but there are missing parts that could have made it better. While you can guess some things about the heroine's past, it's not told to us as it was in the previous books.

The third book in the Cuff and Spurs saga will read as a stand-alone. While the BDSM club, Cuffs and Spurs will have a role in the story, it is more around the Black Elkhorn Lodge and Restaurant, run by brothers, Cole and Mason Steward, and the newly hired chef, Emily Fox, fiance to Mason. The story will be about Cole and guest, Mia Evans from Chicago, but have characters from the previous story.

Mia Evans has hit a serious writer%u2019s block and with the deadline on her book fast approaching she is at risk of being in default of her contract. Not only is she a talented author of several historical fiction books, but they have also been made into a television series. Mia has been handed a life of heartaches, the death of her parents when she was five, trouble coping and having abandonment issues, living with her aunt who recently passed away and then the man she was involved with cheating on her. The more stressed she becomes, the greater the anxiety that will lead to an attack.

Cole Steward works with his brother Mason running the Black Elkhorn Lodge, and while Mason enjoys the business side, Cole prefers the outdoors. He takes guest on hikes, fishing, and camping events. Cole has a reputation at Cuff and Spurs as being non-committal with the subs. After the death of Lana, he feels he had his chance at love, and she is gone. He doesn%u2019t do relationships, and it is never good to become involved with a guest.

The plot will have Mia arriving in Jackson Hole, Montana for a month to work on her book. She is hoping a change in scenery, and painful memories will allow her to complete her manuscript. The one thing she wasn%u2019t counting on was meeting a brooding cowboy that made her feel alive. Mia will step outside of her comfort zone and book several excursions that will bring her and Cole together. When she shows an interest in Cole, he will tell her he doesn%u2019t do vanilla that he is a Dominant and only is involved with submissives in the lifestyle.

During a hike, the weather changes quicker than predicted and they must get to his cabin and out of the white-out snowstorm. It will become a turning point for both of them, one where they decide to stop fighting the attraction and go with it. He will discover that Mia accepts his dominance and guidance like a duck to water.

The story has one scene where he takes her to Cuffs and Spurs, and they do a scene together. It seems when everything should be working for them, he lets his past get in their way and tells her this can%u2019t last, whether she is there for one month or extends her stay. Broken heart, hurt feelings, shattered dreams, another abandonment, and rejection will send Mia fleeing back to Chicago. The story will take on a life and death situation that is a wake-up call for Cole. You can%u2019t live in the past with the should of, could of, or would of mentality, not when you have a chance at happiness in the present.

I loved the chemistry between Mia and Cole, and even the angst that is a huge part of their relationship. It is learning to deal with the past, accept what life hands you, and making the best of what can become your future. The story has explicit sex scenes, an introduction into a D/s relationship, a scene at a BDSM club, along with some mild bondage. It is about trust and honesty and moving forward.

His Untamed Love is the fourth book in the Cuffs and Spurs series, and while it has familiar characters, it can be read by itself. Mia has left her anxiety riddled life behind and is moving into the Black Elkhorn Lodge and Resort for the next month, hoping to relax, break her writer%u2019s block, and learn to live life again. On her very first day, she almost runs over Cole. While off to a bad start, the magnetic pull towards him is surprising, but Cole fights the attraction. When a snow storm forces them to be together, is it the step they both needed to see where their intense attraction could lead? As Mia is about to surrender her heart to this untamed man, will Cole give up his past to find his future?

Oh my goodness, this book captured my attention right from the start, as it was full of overcoming your fears, stepping outside of your boundaries, and some intense sensual scenes! Like Cole, I think one of my favorite aspects about this book was watching Mia blossom from being nearly crippled with anxiety to being confident in what she wanted and I loved how smart she was! I giggled a few times when she started reciting facts to cover up being nervous. Cole was this wild, bigger than life character, so comfortable in his own skin, but I loved how much he wanted to take care of Mia! He definitely had some hangups about his past, but it%u2019s also what made him human and relatable. This book definitely started off as a slow burn, building into friendship, exploding into fiery passion, and ending with a whirlwind! I loved reading it and this may be my favorite book in the series so far!

City Girl Mia Evans has writer%u2019s block and her stress/anxiety level has reached capacity. She decides that Chicago is too chaotic for her and a monthlong trip to the Black Elkhorn Ranch in Jackson Hole WY might be just what she needs to keep her sane, allow her to unwind and maybe even get some writing done. What she doesn%u2019t expect is to practically run over a sexy cowboy on a horse, - who%u2019s alpha male confidence is a huge turnoff, but who%u2019s rugged good looks and ripped body seem to call her name, even in her dreams.
What she didn%u2019t;%u2019t know was that Cole was half owner of the Ranch and that he had a broken heart and wanted nothing to do with relationships. Will their attraction to each other lead to something healing, or will his dominant nature push the city girl to leave town. Will Cole ever be able to forget his sadness and move forward or is he just interested in a fling? Things seem to come to a head when an accident brings out everyone%u2019s true feelings. Great fourth installment of the fabulous Cuffs & Spurs series - stand alone but I%u2019d recommend you read them all - great series with sexy Dom cowboys and the women who stay to obey them.

Ms Summers does it again with a enjoyable book in the Cuffs and Spurs series. After reading the first few pages I was hooked to the finish. With her words she makes the setting so vivid that I can easily picture myself standing right there watching everything unfold. The two main characters, Cole, who is part owner of the Black Elkhorn Ranch, strong, and darkly handsome and Mia, who is a author, beautiful, intelligent, and just got to the ranch to stay for a month, are complex. The plot line is beautifully written and even made me cry at one point. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope there is more books to come in this series.

I love this series and this is a very good addition to it. I love Mia. She has problems but is working to overcome them. The story deals very well with anxiety. She sees what she wants and takes a chance. Cole needs her but doesn't know it. All the characters are well rounded and very human. This book can easily be read as a standalone but I recommend that you read them all. I received an ARC copy of this book and I highly recommend it. Wonderfully well written story. I hope that there is lots more to this series.

His Untamed Love by Anya Summers is another excellent book in this series. Cole and Mia are made for each other and help each other heal from some deep wounds. I love how their relationship blossoms. Mia and Cole have found each other and if Cole will let her, Mia will help him heal just as he is helping her. This is a great read and I really enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Another book in the Cuffs and Spur club series. This time Cole's story. He meets Mis that has gone to the ranch for a chsngebof scenery which she hopes will help with her current problem of writers block. She meets Cole one of the ranch owners and a member of the club. There is tension from the first time they meet. Cole and Mia both have there own set of issues. Will it end well? Lovely entertaining read.

His Untamed Love is the 4th book in the Cuffs and Spurs series and a wonderful story! While it can be read as a standalone, I was glad I read the prior books as it helped me to better understand Coles emotions and attitudes. Mia is a complete city girl visiting the Black Elkhorn Lodge to work on her book and get rid of her writers block. She has been hurt in the past and can't trust men or her feelings for them. Cole is part owner in the lodge and is tormented from a past love. Although he will fight his feelings for Mia, this is not always an easy task. The characters have chemistry at first sight and that chemistry only grows between them, driving them both crazy. There are plenty of laughable moments between them as well as frustration with each other. The descriptive language helps the reader to feel as though they are in the wilderness and at the lodge right along with this wonderful group of characters. You will get to see characters from previous stories, but they are well explained in this book so that there is no confusion as to who they are and how they relate to Cole and the lodge. With laughs, friendships, family, tormented emotions, raw passion, and so much more this story is a hit! I highly recommend reading this story as well as the whole series! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

His Untamed Love is book four of the Cuffs & Spurs series. Each book is a standalone. Writer Mia visits the lodge to get over her writer's block and also for stress relief. Instead of relaxing she meets Cole and her heart rate doubles. What is meant as a vacation, quickly turns into an affair that is hotter than the sun.

Wow, this book is such a great read. Actually, I never read a book of Anya Summer that I did not like. Her vivid writing style, the loveable characters and the sensuality of the intimate scenes always turn me into a very satisfied reader. If you love hot Cowboy Doms, spankings, and great characters then this is the series for you.

Book 4 in this latest series tells about Mia who is an historic fiction writer, concentrating on American History. Because of her sad childhood, Mia has all sorts of issues, including deep anxiety with panic attacks, abandonment issues, neurosis, she is socially awkward especially having recently lost her beloved aunt who brought her up after her parents were tragically killed when she was just five years old. Although she is a great historian and a qualified history professor she has writer's block and is running out of time to complete her third book which is due to be published and then televised. In a bid to reboot Mia decides to travel and spend a month in a completely new and different environment and sticks a pin in the map and arrives at the Black Elkhorn Lodge where she promptly nearly runs her car into a horse and rider before she has even unpacked. The rider is Cole Stewart one of the owners who is a Dom. Cole once had the love of his life and lost her and now believes there will never be another, they have chemistry but Mia is shy and Cole is recalcitrant, will they ever get it together? Ms Summers gives us plenty of hot raunchy scenes and some spanking before an eventual HEA. All in all, although predictable, quite an entertaining read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy.
